Welcom to my blog

Hi all, I'm Ken. This is the first time I'm writing a blog. I'm currently studying full time in 3dsense Media School and this blog is to show my progress of my art work. Hmm.. kinda too formal yeah.. well..maybe this is just to get things started.. ^_^

Anyway, although I'm not an established artist (yet) but there is something that I would like to share with anyone who wants to be an artist.

Firstly, if anyone tells you that you need to be talented to be an artist... PLEASE IGNORE THEM!! If computers are not invented, are the top IT specialist and top programmers going to die? Do you tell them "there is no way you can express your talent, your life is doomed and you will not be successful"? NO! Art is not about talent! It's about hard work! The more you do it, the better you are. Talent is only a factor on how fast you pick up the skill, not how good you can draw. To be honest, I'm not talented, it is because I was drawing regularly since I was a kid and that makes me a little better.

For example, I can draw the human face that is facing left easily, but when I try to draw the right side, I have problem. This is because I did not practice drawing the right side. I will be able to draw it nicely once I start practicing. Another example, I believe most of you remember the greeting cards drawn by handicaps when you were studying in primary school and the teachers want us to buy it. Those were nice drawings right? The main thing is.... are they talented? Are they born to draw nice images with their mouth or feet? Of course not! They have to do it because they lost their limps (and job) and they have no choice but to draw by other means. This proves that with lots of practice, you can come out with nice drawings.

Humans are born artist. Ancients used pictures to communicate with each other and words evolves from pictures at a later stage. If you know how to dress up nicely or appropriately for certain occasions, you are already an artist decorating yourself.

You can go online to research on artist and most of them will say the same thing. It all about HARD WORK!

For me, the most important thing is PPP. Patience, Passion and LOTS OF Practice. You cannot do without one if you want to be an artist. Well, that's my 5 cents. So, for those who loves art, go for it and work hard! Ganbatte! ^_^

Oh one more thing, do not be discourage if you are not as good as others... Instead, push yourself to be better and create your own style! Double or even triple your effort and you will reach the same or even higher standard eventually. DO NOT GIVE UP if you really want to be successful! There is no short cut to success in this industry.. or maybe in all industries....

Alright, enough talks.... I will upload some of my work in the next post. Ja na!
