CG Overdrive Day 2

The 1st speaker of the day was Allan McKay, VFX supervisor & Fluids Specialist of Catastrophic. He created the visual effects of films such as Superman returns and Blade Trinity. He demonstrated some of the splash and fire effects using 3dmax and he made it look really easy. However, I still prefer modeling and concept drawing... hmmm.. let's see how things develope after a few months and then I'll decide which path i'm going to choose.

The second speaker was Gio Corsi from Lucasfilm Singapore. He gave a talk about how we can get into the gaming industry and his experience on the gaming world and I love this session! It is always my dream to be in a gaming company to work on some of the coolest games. I'll be looking forward to the day I graudate and see if I have a chance to get into a gaming company.

The last and the best part of the day was from Skan Srisuwan, an instructor in FZD (Feng Zhu Design) school of Design. He demonstrated digital painting during this session. It only took him only 2 hrs to produce a fully rendered image from scratch. This is really very useful for my colour studies and digital painting lesson at the later of the year. I have already started to use some of this technique to work on my "Fairy tale" colour study painting. It does not really look good now but at least I roughly know how it works and I will keep working on it to improve my skill.

Alright! Day 3 tomorrow. YAY! ^_^
